This year I have set a personal goal to take care of my body and feel better physically. This isn’t a resolution (my resolution is to get my kids to school on time in the morning). I am sure everyone has these ideas and resolutions at the beginning of the year and quickly abandon them. I have had a difficult year that has set me back in terms of health. I found out I was pregnant early on in 2015 and to say it was the worst pregnancy ever is not an understatement.
Like my other pregnancies I was very sick, but it seems they get substantially worse with each pregnancy. I was hospitalized many times for dehydration. My medications all made the nausea even worse. I was given IV fluids and intense combinations of medications that helped me to function, but just barely. Sadly it didn’t ever end, I was puking until the day my son was born so I basically starved for months on end. My skin looks horrible, I have the acne of a teenager all over my body. I am sure my teeth are like those of a bulimic.
Basically, I have a lot of physical recovery to make this year. I am not sure how I want to measure these goals, I am planning on playing it by ear and setting small goals as we go. Mostly it is about how I feel. I want to feel better on the inside and the out.
Starting today and continuing for the next 30 days I am making a commitment to add more healthy elements to my daily routine to include things such as getting more steps in each day, being more active, and reducing sugar intake. I am making a commitment to 30 days of healthier living.
