Now that school is back in session, we have a bit more time (who am I kidding) to catch up on some tv shows before the new TV seasons start up again. Here are some of my favorite shows that are coming out on DVD just in time for us to get all caught up.
Modern Family, Season 4
You’ve heard of it, but maybe haven’t seen every episode. Season 4 shows even more hilarious comedy with Haley going off to college, Gloria expecting a baby, house flipping headaches with the Pritchett/Dunphy group, and many other family drama.
Sons of Anarchy, Season 5 – Sons of Anarchy, aka SAMCRO, is a motorcycle club that operates both illegal and legal businesses in the small town of Charming. They combine gun-running and a garage, plus involvement in porn film. Clay, the president, likes it old school and violent; while Jax, his stepson and the club’s VP, has thoughts about changing the way things are, based on his dead father’s journal. Their conflict has effects on both the club and their personal relationships. My husband got me into this show, but the eye candy keeps me watching it. The SOA fashion is good too.
The League, Season 4 – high school friends facing everyday life, excruciatingly teasing each other and placing way too much importance on their fantasy football league! Its funny, clever and relateable. The first few seasons are on Netflix if you need to catch up!
Scandal Season 2 on DVD – This is my all time favorite show this season. Its intense, its intelligent, and the fashion is amazing. Olivia Pope is a fixer. She solves the most intense, no-win complicated dilemmas, and the world is a better place for her being in it. But the world isn’t really a great place, and we now know about it. Her Gladiators in suits, as her team is called, help clean up the messes and sacrice a personal life. Follow on twitter with all the other “gladiators” including Oprah!
The last show that I fell in love with is Homeland. It reminds me of 24, Alias, and some other intense political based shows. I had heard it was good, but was excited to watch the episodes on netflix while I was working. NOT while sewing, as I sometimes do. This one is too intense, you wouldn’t want to sew a finger off! Season 2 just came out on DVD and season 3 is playing now on Showtime.
