I love advent calendars as a countdown to Christmas. It’s just a fun thing to look forward to every day, for both me and my boys. The kids really like getting a treat, but I enjoy that there is something visual for them to see just how close we are getting. Since they have no concept of time – 2 days or 200 days they both just feel really far away to them, this is a good learning experience for them. One a day!
Whether you like a tree ornament, a family activity, or a small treat or toy, there are so many ideas out there. A few years ago I made a scripture advent but I still like getting the inexpensive chocolate boxes. This year I decided to bite the bullet and buy some fun boxes for my boys and found such beautiful options for adults and kids.
Here are my favorite advent calendars for 2016:
A wall hanging, garland, or wooden doors all hold an ornament or toy.
A colorful 3D village advent would be beautiful on a console table or mantle. A A colorful 3D village advent is such a fun idea. Tiny mail in a A colorful 3D village advent!
