About The Book:

Thrilled to spend the final hours of her spring break in the VIP room of an elite Manhattan club, fresh-faced Indiana college student Chelsea Hart remains behind when her girlfriends call it a night. The next morning, joggers find her body in East River Park, her blond hair brutally hacked off.

NYPD Detective Ellie Hatcher believes the group of privileged men last seen plying Chelsea with free-flowing alcohol most likely includes a murderer. But after building a tight case against a young hedge-fund manager, Ellie has her doubts, because Chelsea’s slaying is eerily similar to three other murders from nearly a decade ago. Continuing the investigation long after the department brass is satisfied with their case, hard-headed Ellie plunges into a late-night party world of conspicuous wealth and hedonistic consumption to catch the real killer–unaware that a psychopath is watching her every move…and eager to kill again.

My Thoughts / Reactions to this book:

This is the second story in the series. The story is written well in that you don’t miss anything in this book not having read the first in the series, Dead Connection. As a former deputy district attorney, the author has a broad knowledge of the legal system and shares it with the reader without confusing or depressing them. I like the way Burke describes even the minor characters. You get to know them without it taking time and pages away from the main plot. As anyone who has read my reviews, you should know a major criteria for a books ranking is whether or not I can guess the ending. At some point you find yourself suspecting everyone and Angel’s Tip scores major points in that it had me guessing until the very end.

What a great book review! I love books that are descriptive so I’m never left with any unanswered questions about even the minor characters. Sounds like a good ready, especially if it keeps you guessing 🙂

LOL — I’m loving that the book has you suspecting everyone.

Thanks for being on the tour!

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
