Apartment Remodel – Update

One of the first projects I ever posted was the ugly rainbow colored smelly apartment that I helped my parents remodel.  Of all the apartments we have worked on over the years, this one is by far my favorite. The results were very dramatic, while still keeping a neutral environment for any future tenant to feel at home in the space.  Of all of the apartments in the building this one looks the nicest, and it was one of the less expensive renovations we have done.

I have had a few questions about sources and the most commonly asked question is about the painted kitchen cabinets and the bathroom vanity.

This vanity came from Rona, which is a Canadian hardware and home store.  It came complete with the counter top and faucet.  All have held up well.  Rona actually has quite a few unique and great quality vanities to choose from.  If the current tenants ever move out I would love to go in and take some more pictures without the construction debris!

For the cabinets I sanded the wood trim and used an awesome primer (the trick to any great quality painting project) and matched the paint to the existing white.  I have more detailed pictures to explain this in a future post.
Any other questions you want to ask a designer?

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
