All You Could Ask For by Mike Greenberg

All You Could Ask For

3 women each in different ages and stages of life.  Samantha  discovers her husbands infidelity on her honeymoon. Brooke is a mom of twins who is happily married to a wall street man frequently out of town. Katherine is a Wall Street lawyer and business woman who works daily for the man who broke her heart 20 years ago.

All three women who seem to not have much in common end up becoming friends in a beast cancer survivors online forum.

I am amazed at the power of cancer, loss, infertility, and suffering to unite people in a common goal. I think because pain is universal, plays no favorites,  and is out of our control.  I was surprised when midway through the book I remembered that the author was a man. Mike Greenberg captures the women beautifully, I would have never guessed if he wrote under a pseudonym.

My favorite part of the book, is the addition to the book itself. After the story, we read the authors inspiration behind the novel. The real people who inspired the story. We hear Mike and his wife’s opinion on which movie star they would envision playing each character. We read what they liked and loathed about each character. I love the insight after you read the story itself. It was really fun and interesting. More so than the silly book club questions that I would rather have answered for me than ponder myself.

100% of the proceeds from this book are going to cancer research to prevent breast cancer.

I love that the extra info at the end of the book isn’t what is typically found there – it sounds like there was a lot more great content at the end!

Thanks for being on the tour.

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
