3 Best WordPress Plugins You Must Try
Having a great looking website is a top priority for most people, but coding can be a headache. If you are looking to build a beautiful website without learning code you will want a couple great plugins.
WordPress plugins are amazing for letting you customize how your blog functions and looks.
What is A WordPress Plugin
A wordpress plugin is like a smart phone app – it is something you install to make a specific feature easier. Some plugins I use for a specific task (like redirecting links or condensing image sizes) and then delete. I like to only have plugins that are absolutely needed.
How To Install A WordPress Plugin
It sounds complicated but adding a plugin to your site is super simple. As easy as download, install, and activate.
In detail, open your wordpress menu, there is a tab for Plugins. After moving your mouse over that word, you can select Add New. A new screen shows on the right with an area to search by name for the plugin you are looking for. Install and activate the plugin.
Here are a few plugins that I use that help my site to function well and look great at the same time.
Grow by Mediavine
Grow is a social media icon bar that I just added. It encourages readers to share your blog post. This helps you get more visitors and pageviews to your site.
Social share buttons can be added before or after your content or float on the sidebar as your readers scroll down the page. I prefer the before and after content as a user.
Fontsy is a wordpress font plugin that allows you to add your own fonts to your site. I find for body text in a paragraph I want a simple and easily readable font. For headings a unique font (that is still readable) is a great way to brand your site by adding a featured brand font.
Fontsy has some two free fonts and many paid fonts that you can use in addition to the ability to upload your own fonts. Its simple to do and a great way to add personality to your site without touching any code.
Are you looking for some great fonts? Here I share my list of favorites.
Create by Mediavine
Create is designed to format recipes, tutorials, and guides. I love that it has such a great looking format that can be customized however you like. Even better, it is designed to be optimized for SEO and user experience in mind.
A create template I use often is the list template for round-up style posts that feature a list of posts on one topic. It makes it easy to make my site look pretty and function well, which is all I can ask for.
