I am just returning from Toronto where I met with other bloggers at the beautiful and historic Omni King Edward Hotel for the Link2013 conference. The conference was put on by my ad network, Sheblogs. I was so excited to be able to attend to learn more about monetizing, advertising, and networking for a blog.
The first day was focused towards bloggers and brands. We heard from speakers such as Jeanne Beker, Bob Blumer, Jennifer Valentyne, and it was amazing to live tweet their speeches. There was also a screen with the live tweets, and I was shocked at how many twitter friends were in the room.
I got to meet many current and new blog friends while at Link. They have become MY celebrities.
Kyla – I met Kyla on the first morning of my first blog conference- blissdom Canada – last year. We hit it off instantly and dubbed ourselves BBFF’s. Best blog friends forever. She is sweet as sugar in real life so don’t believe she is as crass as she can be on her blog Mommys Weird.
Julie Nowell – I also met Julie at blissdom that first morning. She was a smooth talker and I loved her business cards with the rain boots and chickens on them. Julie is a storyteller and has frequently been my roommate at blog west, blogher and now link. She has been known to cuddle but she makes a great roomie and an even better blogger at 3 chickens and a boat.
Sober Julie – aka Pink. She is my diet coke bff. She is a genuine person who is a leader and supporter to me and others in the blog world. She is fun to be around and has great recipes for food and mocktails on her blog.
Gemma, Alicia, Jo-Anna –
These are my DIY and design buddies that I am so thrilled to get to meet and hang out with. Alicia and Gemma JUST had babies and I am so jealous of the girl baby. I was tempted to take her home every day.
There are so many other bloggers, writers, and social media pros that I got to listen to, talk with, and dance with. I hope to see them all and more at the next blogger get together!
