Is anyone else thrilled that school is back in? As much as I love having my kids home, after the first week I am ready for them to be back. Unless we are in Hawaii or something, then no school is awesome. So what do all you moms out there do with them on the random PD days? As a work at home mom, these are the tricky times because I don’t have a day off, and need the hours to get my stuff done.
My son is just started to get into Lego and we just found a place in Calgary that has Lego camps. There is an awesome new place that offers different camps and activities.
Bricks 4 Kidz is designed and created by teachers, architects and engineering professionals. Using a hands-on approach, they teach children ages 2 1/2 to 13 the concepts of engineering, architecture and mechanics using LEGO® bricks. Themes such as Transportation, Space, Inventions, Robotics and more provide variety and ensure a high level of interest and enthusiasm amongst our students.
I am really excited about the Super Hero Academy where kids can construct a super hero and use the custom motorized models. These camps include small themed daily take homes.
You can also book the Creativity Center for birthday parties. Kids can come in and play with the legos, you can book the private room for cake and ice cream, and you can even get lego sets for everyone for loot bags! My son really liked the ramp, so insisted on building something with wheels so he could race with some of the older kids. It was a huge success entrainment wise, if only we could have avoided the melt down when we had to go home.
