I Love and Hate Costume Parties
I have mentioned before how much I love and hate dressing up in costumes. I think its awesome if you have a great costume, but until then I hate it. When I went to Blissdom last year, a group of us bloggers from Calgary decided to dress up as Mad Men Wives. It was really fun, and I think the Cheer Leader effect made it for an even better costume.
Individually, we wouldn’t look all that dressed up (except for my crazy hair) but together we look awesome. Its nice to have a few go to costumes that may not be new and exciting, but you know you can pull off, and you will fit the part, not having to stay home and hide due to lack of creativity. Its easier when you have something already, so I buy whenever I find a good deal, or something I can wear and not look scary.
I don’t always have the foresight and planning for a group costume. For some reason, I stock up on kids costumes throughout the year, but never for myself. I recently received a fun Cleopatra costume. It fit well, the quality was about what I would expect, and it wasn’t slutty / skanky /cheesy either. I can’t wait to dress it up with some great accessories and have a costume for anytime I need it.
If you are looking for a costume, I recommend you try out BuyCostumes.com
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
