 Valentines Makeup

As mothers I find we often put the needs of our children before ourselves.  We are busy, and honestly that luxury of a few moments alone is often rather spent sleeping, reading, or just going to the bathroom by yourself.   Its not that we don’t deserve it but more that it becomes less important on the priority list.  Who is really going to see you?  The toddlers?  They don’t care.

Your hot date might care.  When it comes to a night out, whether it is with girlfriends or with your husband / boyfriend / blind date, you want to feel your best.

I decided to work on a new night time look.  I needed to get a new face primer, so I meandered a bit to find what was new and exciting in my makeup aisle.  To savor my kid free time I quickly ran to my community Shoppers Drug Mart.  Mine has an entire aisle filled with the fancy makeup.  I was there only a few seconds before someone helped me, and offered to show me some new looks.  HALLELUJAH!

Shoppers

before-afterHere is my before and after.  Your welcome for that amazing picture of me.  Here is how I accomplished looking so decent (haha) and my date night makeup:
makeup tut1.  Cleanse. I used the Clairins toner.
2. Prime – I tried out the Lise Water in green to even out my redness, but I really like the smashbox version as well.
3. Cheek highlighter, Foundation – I used the Lingerie De Peau because I liked the name for a date night look. Eye Primer.
4, 5, 6.  Three colors on my eyes, with the lightest going on my lid and right below my brow for more open looking eyes.
7. Lash primer
8. Ready for a date!

Stash

Here are all the products that I used.

What is your go to look for a date night out?  Or better yet, what is your favorite beauty product?

What a fun treat! I tend to apply my make on the same way everyday because I really don’t know what else to do. I love how the look was so natural. Great smile!

You look stunning! Funny – I just decided to freshen up my date night look – it’s been a loooong time since I have! I just bought 2 new lipsticks and a new eyeliner!! I always wear a purplish lipstick, so I changed it up to a bright Hollywood red and a darker burgundy-ish colour. Hubs loved the new red!!

I have been using the Smashbox bronzer for years. I love it. It’s very natural and just gives you a glow. Your makeover was just perfect.

Thanks Mara! I don’t know how I have managed to miss Smashbox until now. I have been living under a rock.
