I was over at a friends house a while ago and she asked me for some advise on how to add some personality to her just new home. The house was just recently completed and it is a blank slate just waiting for some personalization. We decided to tackle the dining room first.
Before it looked great, but it looked like a newly built home that nobody lived in yet! On the project list is curtains, storage, and decorations. A second hand cabinet was found, but she wasn’t sure if it was worth keeping.
This is the hutch before, can you believe she debating taking this to the dump?
I think she did a great job and I am so proud of her for doing it all herself.
The cabinet was painted a blue / teal color. The wall was painted and then stenciled with a fun geometric pattern. A crystal chandalier was hung. The pictures and such are still getting rearranged, but its a work in progress.(The Dining Room Wall Stencil is the Nagoya Allover Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils) To see her living room designs, read where we debate rug styles in this same home!
