Bringing home a new born baby is such a unique experience. I remember bringing Jett home the very first time. We were so excited just to see him sleeping. We kept running in to look at him, check on him, smile at him, and hold him.

When we brought the twins home it was a much more intense experience. They were born at 29 weeks gestation, so 11 weeks premature. They were 2 pounds each. By the time they came home two months later they were only 4 pounds each. They had to pass a car seat test – they had to sit in an infant car seat for 2 hours without their oxygen levels dropping below a certain level or their heart rate dropping. Bringing them to the house without those alarms we had grown so used to, made me nervous that they would stop breathing without me knowing about it.

I just found a cool tech item that I wish I had when they came home. The Levana Oma Movement Monitor is a video, audio and movement monitor. Its digital and wireless, so no cords to risk strangulation.

Having that peace of mind is so freeing, and frees up your time to get other things done. Like sleep. Think of how much more sleep you can get, not having to wake up and check on the babies whenever I didn’t hear them squeak or cry.

The Lenova Oma Monitor is available May 19th in Walmart Canada.  Check out their facebook page for more info.

I wish I could spend more time at the spa but babies only stay babies for so long so I’ll enjoy the sleepless nights since they won’t always need me the way that they do now.

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
