Family Fourth

Last week we were in Idaho Falls visiting Mick’s family for the 4th of July and all of a sudden my kids became obsessed with fans of all kinds.  Only they don’t call them fans, they shout FLY! Fly! whenever they see one, often repeated by FLY ON! if the fan isn’t turned on.  When we got the in-laws house grandparents were worried about little fingers getting hurt inside the fans, so I found pinwheels out in the planter boxes on the front porch.  When I failed to teach the kids how to blow the fans the genius entertainment of sticking the pinwheels in the fan was born.  This genius idea kept them entertained for hours.  We had 3 fans going at a time for these nuggets.

When we got back to the house we were staying at, Boston saw that the neighbors had some “FLY” in their garden.  Everytime we were outside he would bolt to the neighbors house to get her pinwheels.  We later found out that this neighbor is pretty picky about people walking on her grass, or touching her flowers and sadly the pinwheels disappeared after a day or two.  I promise we were really good about putting them back where they belonged!  When something so simple keeps your kids so happy, you can’t deny them!

And here is the whole family together for the 4th.  It was so fun to have the group together. Fourth Of July
