I love updating my home with new decor.  For the first few years of marriage, I felt like I was always saving up for big items, and moving so often didn’t lend to buying many accessories.  Now that we are settled a bit I have managed to see some neglect in certain areas of our decor.  There are a few staple items I think can be reused in so many ways, such as candle sticks, trays of all sizes, and bowls for decorative and practical uses.

The practice of ethically sourced home decor is an excellent idea, but it still has to be beautiful and useful.  The Heart of Haiti line at Macy’s is all of those things.  I was able to pick up a few items from the collection and wanted to show you a few different ways of using them because I like to move things around, it was fun to gather a few different accessories and move things in different combinations and locations.

A few people have asked what that silver thing is on the table.  It is an amazing product from Lampe Berger that purifies the air as well as  adding fragrance.  I have the Maille version, and I love it.  I actually use it the most in my kitchen to get rid of the lingering smells of dinner meals.  It is amazing at getting rid of the smells, and I only have to leave it on for about 20 minutes at a time.

I also really like the Rwanda Path to Peace baskets.  I think they would make a huge statement grouped together and hung on the wall.  I found a similar idea from Simply Stylings.

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
