This is my kitchen, via photos before we moved in. Oh do I have ideas for this room.

I am planning on painting the cabinets white, and the walls are going to be silver sage from restoration hardware. My husband really likes dark cabinets, so I am willing to put this out there as an option. What do you think? (Note: photoshop is being tricky, so this is not an exact, just an idea.
Leaving the walls, painting the cabinets
Staining the cabinets dark

Painting the walls silver sage, white cabinets. I would love to have a white subway tile back-splash and I am going to build up the trimwork on top of the cabinets. I am also debating either white wainscoting on the island or black painted beadboard. The pantry door will eventually be replaced with a solid door so you won’t see our food!

You can see the dining room update here.

Silver Sage is one of my FAVORITE colors. We used it in the Noah’s building here in Salt Lake and it’s so gorgeous. I like the white with the silver sage. really clean and calming. Nice kitchen by the way. Still jealous of your house. Loves!

If you’re in the mood for a compromise, you could do the main cabs white and the island dark. However, I think given the nature of your degree and the fact that you will undoubtedly send far more time in the kitchen, you should claim a dictatorship.
    ps: love the light fixture!

I agree with RTA I think it would look great to make the main cabs white and do your black bead board on the island. But who am I? Just a random stranger with an opinion.:)

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
