Menu Planning Made Easy

My Beginning of Getting My life In Order

Why I Need This:

I am always amazed at the moms who seem to do it all.  Every day it hits 5:00 and I dread anyone asking me what is for dinner.  After a day of dealing with screaming kids, I find it frustrating to have to think of that.  I know a lot of moms who meal plan, and are all organized, but it seems like too much work to get started.

I actually have a great cookbook that shows awesome pictures, and my favorite part of the book is that it incorporates ingredients that can be used in more than one meal.  It also has meals you can cook ahead, or freeze.

People Who Don’t

My sister in law has a binder where she prints out all of her favorite recipes and then a monthly calender and plans from there.  I admire that, but its much to complicated and overwhelming for me.  Who has time for that?  However, I was introduced to a great product,  The Organized Family Menu Planner, that makes it really easy to get started.

Why This Menu Planner Rocks:

The menu planner from Glow Baby is a weekly chart, you fill in whatever you would like to make, and it has a tear out sheet where you can make a grocery list as you go.  That way the entire book can stay home, and you have your grocery list right there.  For special events, there is also another section included to help plan for those stressful big days.  This would be a big money saver too.

My favorite features of this menu planner are the tear away shopping lists, envelope to save recipes, and the wipeable covers.

Oh oh oh …. do I need help in this department! For as much technology as I have, and I love, I need paper to organize things like this. Would definitely help how meal planning challenged I am!

I think my favorite is the Organized Family Calendar~ it is the one area I am always forgetting something. With seven kids and three adults in the house there are so many appointments and activities that need to be jotted down. I find myself jotting things down on post-it-notes and then end up forgetting to add them to one central location. The calendar would be perfect to get me started on organizing all the information in one spot.

I am always scrambling during dinner time trying to figure out what I want to make for dinner and if I have everything I need. I always talk about meal planning, but never actually do it. I think this might actually help me and my family to meal plan.
I like their my story – book of memories!

I hate meal planning. But I’m totally lost without it. Probably why I should do it more than half the time. Unfortunately right now all I want to do is BBQ. Ummmmn hello snow. PICK ME!

I am not so good at the meal planning department, this is something I may actually use to get dinner on the table more often.

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
