Must Have Baby Items You Might Have Missed
When your first child is born, you are showered with gifts from friends, coworkers and family. Typical presents include clothing, blankets, shoes, toys, and other gear items like a swing, carrier, wipes warmer, etc.. It’s not until the second child that you think, what did I actually use? What did I love? What would you want the second time around that you missed the first time?
For me, the items were a thermometer and a humidifier. I bought a really cheap thermometer with my first and I hated it. It took so long to get a reading I was never sure if it was accurate. What a waste of $8. It isn’t until you know your kid has a fever and you aren’t sure when you should be worried. Those late nights are when you need to know if it’s a Tylenol before bed or a drastic measures kind of fever.
A humidifier is needed when your kids have any airborne allergies, colds, coughs, etc. Did you know that Nearly half (43%) of Canadians suffer from airborne allergies, and in almost a quarter (22%) of homes at least two people are allergy-sufferers?
I finally got my own thermometer (no more late night drives to my brothers house) and a humidifier. I got the Braun ThermoScan Vicks Starry Night humidifier (also available in pink)
