Everyone Has Embarrassing Relatives Right?

For today’s Moody Monday Secrets, it seems that the topic that has been on my mind a lot lately is family members. Siblings, aunts, uncles, parents, kids. What makes them great, what makes them funny, what did we expect those relationships would be like?

Thinking of the holidays coming up, who is your craziest relative? What is the most outlandish thing they have done or said? Tell me please! It always makes you feel better to know that someone else has a crazy relative too!

Yes, these are my own scanned in family photos, mine and my husbands families.
And to my cousin Jill, your welcome for choosing a hot picture and not one of you in your glasses!
As usual, feel free to say whatever is on your mind, your secrets are safe and annonymous here.  I will be commenting as well!

What a fun post, don’t you love looking back at the hairstyles and fashions from “the past”. Difficult to believe we used to think we looked so great…lol!!

Great pictures. One year, my dad and uncles sat around telling their university stories. We laughed until we cried. I can’t remember most of the stories, but I do remember laughing so hard and being amazed at the things they’d done in their younger days. 🙂

My Grandma is the kind of person who will say absolutely anything to anybody. If you don’t know her you might be offended by some of the stuff that she comes out with but if you do know her you know that none of it comes from a bad place and can quietly chuckle and shake your head. She use to sew quite a bit and I remember one time when I was a teenager she was sewing or maybe altering a piece of clothing for me and as she was measuring me said “Well you don’t have much of a chest do you?” No, Grandma I don’t…..

I have an uncle who is incredibly racist. He also fully uses his right to bear arms. One time he told me that black people LIKE to be called a certain N word. Its just sooo embarassing.

My grandma farts at the dinner table and thinks because she can’t hear (hearing aids turned off) that none of us can, or smell it either.

Love the pictures!!! My uncles & dad were always good for a laugh growing up. I don’t know how my Grandma managed to survive raising 3 goofy boys!

HAHA. LOL. I love that you just told the world your grandma farts at the dinner table. LOL. ROFL PIMP – My MOM farts a lot. My daughter stated once – My grandma farts a lot to her class. Also my ygst daughter last year was perfecting her storytelling technique and I bought her a note pad and that day I took grandma out to the dollar store with us. Well there we are shopping when all of a sudden I noticed she had left the dollar store with some merchandise – totally not realizing this. Anyways I sent her back with it (my MOM). So my daughter later on is writing away madly in her little notebook and she says I am doing a journal entry for my class. So I said “Oh that’s great. Read it.” She proceeded to say. Today is Friday. We picked grandma up from the hospital and took her shopping. She left the store with a scarf and didn’t pay for it. SNORT! Grandm was mortified. I hoped secretly that my kiddo read the story to her class. (yes we have our share of nts in my family too.

Hmmm….family relatives…. since there is any chance that my family could read this…I’d rather not say. We have some family member who say the wrong thing at the wrong time and/or should just keep their opinions to themselves!

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
