Its been a long weekend, and I have honestly found a few things that saved my sanity. Every so often, I think, I wish someone would have told me this was out there! So, I like to share them with you.
For The Babies
Bazzle Baby Bibs –
Sometimes I let my babies have at er. It gives me precious moments kid free to get some stuff done. I learned my lesson in what foods they can play with. I also sometimes give them bowls of water to splash around in. Don’t they look happy?
My sweet nephew wears a bib. I think its so adorable, and its so hard to find cute things for boys these days. His mom bought it at Bazzle Baby and I love everything on their site. The prices are so great, its better to buy them then to attempt to DIY like I did. They work, but they are all lopsided and weird looking. So much for hand made gifts from me. I would loose friends. They also are offering 20% off with the word FEVER at checkout
For The Kids –
One thing I do almost every night with my kids is read books. Its the one activity we all enjoy to do together and has become part of our nightly routine. My mom kept all of our favorite books from when we were kids, and I love reading the Berenstein Bears to my kids. They are the perfect level for my 4 year old son, and I love that he pays attention to the lessons taught. He will even repeat things back to me days later. I just got the 50th anniversary DVD pack and we have loved watching them. Its interesting to see how excited my sons get to see characters from their books on the TV. There are more shows included than the books that we have, so I am sure we will be picking up more over time. These are a great classic to have in your house.
Shake It Up – I <3 Dance
When my 9 and 10 year old nieces were over, I felt old. I love having them drive with me and listen to their endless banter. Their world is so different than mine. I had the Shake It Up CD in my car and it was something we all loved singing along to. For those of us who don’t know (I didn’t) Shake It Up is a Disney show, really popular amoung the 6-11 crowd. The CD feautures songs by Bella and Zendaya as well as fellow Disney stars Selena Gomez, Bridgit Mendler, Roshon Fegan and Caroline Sunshine, in addition to up-and-coming stars Coco Jones, McClain Sisters and more. For those of you that watch Dancing With The Stars, Zendaya is on as a star, and one of the youngest contestants ever to compete. I love that show (my husband is Julianne and Derek’s cousin) and we have watched every season. Its great to have something we can all enjoy with every cousin.
