Growing up we spent every Christmas, spring break, and summer vacation in Idaho to visit my Grandma (where exciting instances happen to inspire posts such as fancy mens bathrooms and cousins are better than sister wives). It was a long drive for a young child, and many memories were made with my brothers on those trips. From the ages of about 4-12 we would break the trip into 2 stops. We would leave in the afternoon and drive to Great Falls, Montana where we would crash at our home away from home, the Fairfield Inn.
My mom always said “my idea of camping was a hotel without room service”, which later changed to “a hotel without a pool”. This specific Fairfield Inn was the best place we could ever stay. Its right across the street from Target, and NOW its withing walking distance of Sonic Drive In (diet coke with lime please!) and Cafe Rio. What more could you ask for. I have so many memories of dashing to the room, and racing to see who could get their swimming suits on first, racing to the pool. Over the years these memories have become so precious. Soon I will begin to repeat these traditions with my kids!
Eventually I did grow up and learn about other hotels in the entire Marriott chain of hotels. Every one is awesome, there is no need to go anywhere else. They have a pool and room service! If you like something more luxurious than a pool, maybe you would like to check out the spas? Here is a very helpful and cute infographic showing you what to expect, how to save or splurge, and ways to get the most for your time or money.
