Yesterday I shared some ideas on cool new locks available just in time for back to school. I shared what I honestly think about stealing, keeping your stuff safe, etc. and it reminded me of my husband. You see, Mick is always paranoid about people stealing his stuff. Combined with the fact that he is always loosing stuff, it can prove to be quite the entertaining problem. One time he lost his flip flops and was convinced that someone stole them. No convincing him that nobody wanted his used shoes did not help ease his mind. Funny enough he found them on the back porch months later, right by the door where he misplaced them.
I had to share a post from my family blog WAY back in the day. Dated August 20, 2008. This is pre kids, moving from Idaho Falls to Calgary. Enjoy.
We sold our house. Finally. We close at the end of this month. We had to drive down to Idaho and get all of our stuff. Thanks Brandon and Bree for the storage space and Debbie and Joel for driving and helping with the move (yes, I call my parents Debbie and Joel, its awkward, deal with it). It was quite the trip and I am very glad it is over. Mick was so paranoid that someone was going to steal every last possession, including the trailer. He wanted to camp out in the yard, and we gave him a hard time about his paranoia. What are you going to do, sleep in the truck with a shotgun? Run after the theives down the road? Call the police with our imaginary cell phone? REALLY… In the end he decided instead to take the metal drawers from his desk and prop them up over the hitch and tires so if the trailer moved, the drawer would fall and make a loud noise. And then he put more drawers in front of the tires. All while saying “we are too old to start all over” knowing I was thinking,” isn’t this a bit much?”
