Family Friendly Shows
My in-laws are in town, visiting and helping me with the twins surgeries tomorrow. We decided to have a special ‘surprise’ for my son, a family date night. We picked up ice cream and cookies, and watched the movie Parental Guidance. I had seen it before, so I knew it would be a great choice for my inlaws to watch.
I love my mother in law for her sweetness and positive outlook on life, but choosing a movie that doesn’t make her blush or leave the theater is tricky. Parental Guidance was awesome in that we could watch it as a family. I don’t think the kids liked it as much as an animated movie, but they really liked the funny kids parts. The name ‘Farty’ is now a commonly used phrase in our home. Yay.
We also had some great conversation about raising kids and discipline now vs. the past generations. Its interesting to think of what was common place then, what is taken as abuse now that was accepted then, etc.
About The Movie
