About The Book:

“Poison Me” tells the story of Chanel, who is wrongly accused and loses her job. She ends up in Preston, Idaho working in a retirement center. She quickly makes friends with a quirky group of ladies, and one particular good looking grandson. Both Chanel and Jake, the handsome grandson, have past relationship history that requires some working through. Meanwhile, someone is poisoning the retirement ‘palace’ residents, but nobody is concerned because they are old!

My Thoughts:

I have to admit, I judged this book by its cover. Not only is the book cover adorable, the blog tour banner is pretty. I was interested. I loved this book from the first page. The characters have stories to tell. There is a history that you pick up as you go, some mysteries you can figure out as you go, but there are a few surprises. What could lead to more entertaining stories than funny ladies, deeply kept family secrets, nosy neighbors, and a love story. The only thing I didn’t love about this was that there were a few old funny ladies, and it was hard to tell them apart. There were also a few minor characters I wish we got more detail on so that we would remember why they are important, or if their name came up again, you remembered who the heck they were.

I love the characters. I want to read sequel after sequel, because Jake’s parents have quite the stories in and of themselves, as well as his sister, and nephew. I want to read those stories. Now.

Thanks for the fun review! I am working hard on his sister’s story. She was such a mess and I so want her to be happy!
    Thanks again,
    Cami
