My sister in law Bree blogged about a sofa she found that she wants needs to reupholster.  We worked on the chair earlier this summer and she is debating fabrics to choose.  I liked her options but felt like a darker background wold be better…  never one to hold back an opinion, I thought I would post what my thoughts were.

Its tough because I like the classics. As soon as I saw the couch, I pictured it in Black and White damask(or a smiliar pattern) with Black trim. Might be a litle boring, but I think it would stand the test of time. Im not very adventurous with colour yet, but I LOVE the top fabric you have.

I also like the basket weave, but all three are very nice.

I love the blackbird fabric. Actually, I like all three but that’s my favorite.

I would go with the last one. I think you’ll have more color options that way for coordinating furniture and wall color. It may hide spills a bit more as well??? They are all very pretty though.

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
