Rustic Modern Dining Room Styles

I am looking for a new dining table and chairs. I love the look of a rustic element contrasted against a really modern object.  I was thinking about a rustic farm house table with really modern chairs like an eames molded eiffel chair.  This is what I have had in mind (my inspiration):

I have been thinking about this for a while, so here are some kitchen remodeling ideas.
Here are pictures of what my dining room looks like right now.

What do you think?  Is this look too off the beaten path?  Do those chairs look comfortable?  I love the mismatched chairs, and here are a few different price ranges that I found for similar chairs shown here.

There is this table at Pier 1 that is rustic that I have been lusting after, It was in the $300-$400 range for the table so unfortunately my husband and I don’t see eye to eye on this one! It is called Carmichael and you can find it on the US Pier 1 site…Incidentally, it is much prettier in real life. The top has wooden 2×4’s that have been put together and distressed.

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

Wonderful parade of dining rooms. All fabulous, but no 3 and 4 stand out to me.
The window wall in no 4.. sigh.

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
