I could spend forever writing sweet moments about why I love my dad and my kids dad. But, we heard all of those this weekend, so I will spare you and tell it to you straight.
Surprise! -My Kids Have A Father
I am just glad my kids have a dad. Yeah he eagerly entertains them, provides for all us, etc. but the thing I like most about a dad is that they are required just as much to care for the kids as the moms are. So when I am ready to lose my mind, I know I can leave them with him and not feel guilty.
I have mentioned before how helpful and awesome my mom is, but I don’t really ask her to watch my kids by herself or on weekends and such. I want my mom to love my kids as her grandkids, not feel like she is raising them. If she has to discipline them or gets annoyed with them it takes the fun out if it.
My husband was out of town last week and the day after moving home left for a fishing trip. I will admit I was mad. Frustrated, at having to take care of all 3 kids 24/7 with no break for 12 days basically straight. I know this isn’t comparable to single parenting, but its still frustrating.
So this Father’s Day I am grateful for a husband that I can lean on. That I know will be there for me when I need to have a day to myself.
Do you hate it when men watching their own kids is called babysitting rather than parenting? Do your parents or in laws help with your kids?
