Secrets To Simplify

1. Nomad ChargeCard

Built-to

The nomad ChargeCard is a tiny USB cable the size of a house key. It works just like the cord that came with your iphone – it will charge and sync your data.  Check them out and get 20% off HERE.

2.   Harris Comfort Gel brushes

I got these brushes at Home Depot used them to paint my interior doors (a project I will show you soon).  The brushes have gel pads so you can paint even longer without your hand hurting.  Not are my pampered hands loving it, the brush itself is great at its main task of painting.  Check them out here!

3.  Sugru

I tend to sound like my grandma when I whine that they don’t make things like they used to, but its true.  My grandma had a mint green kitchen aid dishwasher for 30 years.  It still worked but she finally had to replace it because the racks were rusting. The shelves in fridges break all the freaking time.  I swear every time I take it apart to clean one of the clips snaps.  Its full of cheap plastic and it drives me crazy. I found this “stuff” that makes me feel okay about it all.

Sugru is like magic.  Its sort of like a clay that can be fused to anything.  It bonds to fabric, is flexible when cured, is water proof, washing machine proof, drop proof, basically its amazing.  So what do you do with it?  That’s the fun part – whatever you want.  There is an entire site where people share what they have made with this awesome stuff.

You will be amazed at:

Add bumpers to your iphone so it doesn’t shatter the glass when you your kids drop the iphone.

Fix the toys missing arm, leg, head, etc so its good as new.

How to fix fridge shelves, drawers and lining with sugru!

There are all sorts of projects people have used Sugru for to “Hack Things Better”.  My first project I am working on is adding a comfort handle to my crochet hooks.

4. Affresh Washing Machine Cleaner.

I have a brand new front loader washer and dryer, and they stink.  Well, they wash my clothes just fine, but the machine itself smells like mildew.  It drives my mom crazy.  Recently she moved into a new house that already had a washer and dryer.  She loudly proclaims for all to hear “I am going to sell my washer and dryer.  The title of the ad will say THIS WASHER DOESN’T SMELL LIKE ROTTEN EGGS!” Then a few days later she will claim “The price has gone up to a million dollars! These things are valuable!”

Even Kyla has a stinky washer and dryer so I know its not just me.

I was laughing with a friend who told me that the smell means that the washer isn’t draining right, something to do with the boot??? Basically, its been a problem.  She told me about this product called Affresh – you put the puck into your machine on a wash cycle (or if it doesn’t have that, just a normal cycle) and run it normally.  It will clean out the machine anywhere that water goes.  Its basically amazing, and if you go by my moms valuation, its basically worth millions of dollars!

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
