Small Space Design
Size does not matter… Sometimes that is a lie, but when it comes to homes, I think the biggest restrictions, whether it be size, or interesting quirks, are what force you to think outside of the box and come up with the most creative of solutions. This blogger managed to create small space design that feels like home.
Jordan Ferney, of Oh Happy Day fame, lives in her smallest apartment yet, but it manages to feel like each space is used to its max potential. I don’t know if I would stretch to say it feels spacious, but it doesn’t have clutter, and everything has a home.
Small Kids Rooms –
Jordan is no stranger to small space design. She previously had her sons crib in a closet, which transitioned to a toddler bed in a closet. When his brother came, they had a crib and toddler bunk beds in a closet! So this new apartment may be small, but those kids literally have their own room now. Not too shabby!
Remember Dooce’s home she just sold? She showed some of her own style, but for the most part the space feels disjointed. It is too larger for her to add her own touch to every space. Small can be better.

Great ideas! Please share what is used as the magnet board. I would LOVE to try that in my Spanish classroom.

How did you do the large metal board (the one with magnetic letters)? Where did you buy the metal and how did you hang it on the wall? Did the project require cutting the metal? Thanks!

You can buy sheets of galvanized metal at hardware stores. You do not need to cut them. You could nail them to the wall, frame them and mount the frame, or glue or hang them to the wall, etc.
If they do not carry the exact size of sheet metal that you are looking for, you can paint the wall or space with magnetized paint. Rust Oleum sells a magnetized paint for this. It requires 3 to 5 coats.
