My cousin got married last weekend so I embarked on a 10 hour car ride with all 4 of the kids and no dad. Mick doesn’t have many vacation days left, so he didn’t get to come. My boys are getting used to the car ride, but it was an interesting challenge having a newborn with us. I was able to take a 2016 GMC Acadia Denali for the trip and I am going to have to tell Mick I would like to be kept in the lifestyle to which I have become accustomed.
This car makes my van feel like a hunk of junk. Not only did it have all the latest safety features it had all the entertainment I needed. The back up camera has the guides to get you into your spot without doing a 20 point turn. The mirrors have a light if someone is in your blind spot. The car has wifi. Let me say that with the proper excitement. WIFI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The kids can watch movies, I can check facebook, or if in the states and your phone doesn’t work you can imessage or facetime! I will never be impressed with my car’s boring DVD player again. Hopefully my kids still will. The Acadia has seating for 7 (you could also get a bench in the middle if you needed 8) so this is totally something I want to drive every day. Way cooler than my mini van.
Trip stories: Now that the boys are getting old enough to buckle and unbuckle their seat belts we have to remind them to keep them on while driving. They often do up the top buckle but need help doing the bottom. When the fight the seat belts I have threatened that the police will take them if they aren’t buckled up. The other day while driving Jager did up his top buckle but couldn’t get the bottom. He was so upset and yelled “Mom I need bucked or the police will…. take my pants”. It was so cute. During the luncheon after the wedding ceremony they placed the bride and groom back to back, each holding a shoe that belonged to them both. A family member asked questions about them – like who is the most romantic? They would each answer by holding up the shoe of the person they wanted to answer with. Make sense? So a few questions were asked, the bride and groom can’t see what each other is answering, but we can see what both of them are holding up. It was so funny to see when they agreed and when they didn’t. Both of them agreed that HE is more romantic and that HER family is more crazy (haha, thats us). Jett thought this holding the shoes up in the air was hilarious and took his shoe off to hold in the air as well! Then, as the laughter kept going, the twins wanted in on the action. They would ask “Who is the best kisser” and both the boys ran up to the front of the room yelling ME! ME! “Who is most likely to kill a spider?” and Jager runs up there again yelling ME ME! Then crinkles his fingers saying “I like spiders!” It was too cute. Since I missed posting on friday, here are some of the things I am loving right now…. Friday Favorites for this Tuesday morning:
- This eyeshadow set – Measurable Difference Eyeshadow has all the colors I need in one set, perfect for travel. Available on Lashem.com
- My kids loved playing with this Sonic Boom Tails’ Plane – based on the popular Sonic Boom video games and TV series. You can see a video with all the features here.
- I am organizing and deep cleaning my house, while trying to use up all the various products I have. I am loving the My Shower product line I found at target because it holds my shampoo bottles with the top down so I dont have to hit it to get every last drop out of the bottle.
- Songs I am singing in my sleep: Cheerleader by OMI. Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift. I don’t like it, I love it by Flo Rider featuring Robin Thicke. Check out the best lip sync video ever to this song by Sean Hayes. I die!
