This Bright River: A Novel
Patrick Somerville
978-0-316-12931-2, $24.99Lauren Sheehan’s career in medicine came to a halt after a sequence of violent events abroad. Now she’s back in the safest place she knows—St. Helens, Wisconsin—cut off from career, friendship, and romance.
Ben Hanson’s aimless life bottomed out when he went to prison. But after his release, a surprising offer from his father draws him home. In Wisconsin, he finds his family fractured, still unable to face the truth behind his troubled cousin’s death a decade earlier.
As Lauren cautiously expands her world and Ben tries to unravel the mysteries of his family and himself, their paths intersect. Could each be exactly what the other needs?
A compelling family drama and a surprising love story, This Bright River confirms Patrick Somerville’s status as one of the most exciting young writers at work today.

Okay, I left my comment before I saw the question. On my reading list right now: Currently reading – Outlander – by Diana Gabaldon; upcoming reads: The Selection – by Kiera Cass and In One Person – by John Irving.

My reading list is endless but I’ve been unmotivated since I finished my last book club title “Backseat Saints” which was…meh. Saw this link on FB and it felt like a message.

Sadly I am not reading anything right now..which is very rare for me as I generally read 2 novels per week. I have literally run out of books to read right now and have not yet made my way to the store or the library. I would love to win and have a new book to read. Thanks so much for the chance to win!

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
