Hey, I am Brooke. I grew up and currently live in Calgary, Alberta. Most every summer, Christmas and spring break of my life was spent visiting family in Idaho. I have a very large extended family that are all crafty, handy, and smart. So I come by the DIY life naturally, and when I am with family I always feel like I am with my people.
I used my bachellors degree in interior design and worked for a home builder designing and decorating show homes (in both the US and Canada). This entailed working on the floor plans, finishes, and kitchen design as well as hanging pictures, styling bookcases and moving the furniture.
How This Site Came To Be
When I had my first son (back in 2009) I started this blog as a way to help all the people who would ask me for paint color suggestions and design ideas for their home. I offered answers to design questions and would create images to share design ideas with my readers.
Today I now live with my husband, 4 sons, and 2 dogs in a zoo where I try to fit as much creativity into my life between making school lunches and trying to give my kids their best life. This usually means whenever I want to make something I have lots of helpers, everyone wants to join in.
Besides making things and learning how things are made, I love a great board game. I am always over prepared for fun. If found with a spare hour of time I will have two books I could read, a podcast ready, a craft going, and a diet coke ready.
So, now that you know who I am and how my weird little brain works, you will see why my site is about sharing all the creative things with you. Cricut projects, craft projects, glowforge projects, tutorials for all those things, games, and things to do with your family.
