Decorating For Christmas

I love to see how people decorate their Christmas Trees each year. It says to much to me about a persons style and decorating philosophies.

My top 5 best Christmas tree trends:

1. Decorate with presents – It seems like a simple idea but stacking your presents face up and wrapping them in coordinating paper is a simple touch that makes your room look that much more put together. via

2. Use Unique and Personal Ornaments – Galvanized buckets are a new trend I see popping up that are replacing tree skirts. This shabby chic tree has vintage family photos, postcards, and twine wrapped candy canes as decorations. I love the unique touch this has.

3. Go For White – branch out from the norm and try a white tree. Ornaments will stand out in a room with colorful walls, and each ornament makes a bigger impact.

4. Big and Bold – large over sized ornaments are showing up everywhere. From lanterns, owls, bluebirds, or stuffed animals, the larger the better!

5. The Non Tree – if you lack the space or want something truly unique, there are plenty of options you could go for. A chalkboard tree is cute and great for space saving. A branch could be left natural or spray painted gold or white.
