Celebrate!

It was my moms birthday recently and I wanted to do something beyond our usual dinner and ice cream family celebrations.  Not that those aren’t awesome, and I love simple parties, but after some crappy family events she needed a true party.

She had a birthday cake fit for a Princess.  Crown included. Ice Cream cake is our favorite.

I was surprised at how much my boys loved wearing the birthday hats. They made sure we wore them all night long.

These are actually stickers that fit perfectly around water bottles – perfect for cute and functional decor.  I just didn’t have time to run to the store for water bottles, so we wrapped them around plastic cups instead.  It worked out and the straw toppers were the perfect touch.

Isn’t this foil chandelier so fun?  Its such an inexpensive item to buy (only $9)1751-1 1766

After Jett’s Mickey Mouse birthday party had such a successful pinata party, we had to continue the tradition.

1760

This time we added in a blind fold to add some trickiness to the game for the 5 year olds.1772

This time, everyone knew just what to do, and we have mastered the art of using the broom to navigate the pinata. What makes the entire game for me is how much the entire family enjoys pinata time.  The kids of every single age love it, the parents love seeing their kids swing their hearts out, and even better, if someone misses.  Watching the parents get all serious about it makes it even more funny.  Check out my younger brother holding the broom.  His laugh is the best thing in the world.

I wanted to give a shout out to Whish.ca, an online party store that has everything you could ever need to throw the party of your dreams.  You can also call and have them put packages together for you.  They are so talented and I highly recommend them to help you get the party of your dreams.

Brooke - Brooklyn Berry Designs

Hey, I’m Brooke!

I am a mom to 4 boys in Calgary, Alberta.  I love learning how things are made, singing to the radio loudly, and can’t stop talking. Fueled by diet coke and chaos, I can often be found working on a project.  You can hang out here for craft ideas and tips, games and activities to do with kids, plus FREE svg files and printables.
