Summer is almost here, and the fight against screen time is getting real.  In antipaction of much warmer days we are trying to be outdoors more and I just realized how little toys we have in the back yard that are age appropriate for my boys. We somehow passed the little kid toys and nothing is keeping them entertained.  While I was searching for awesome games and backyard toys I thought I would put a wish list together. I am curious to know your thoughts on the matter.  Do you think that whatever toys you have in your yard the kids eventually grow bored with?

A Seesaw

I like that this can be moved in the winter, and for less than $75 this is sure to be entertaining for my kids in the backyard.

Inflatable Water Slide

I think a pool is fun for an afternoon but it quickly loses its interest for other activities.  I really want to get this inflatable water slide.  Not only does it have an awesome water slide, you could use it for a pool too.  When I see this I keep singing, my waterslide brings all the kids to my yard, and their like….. its better than ours!

Inflatable Play Ball

OK, I want these for the kids, but I also want the grown up version for myself.  Not only are they so fun to use, its hilarious to watch people use them too.  Its like bumper cars but with kids!  I think these would be perfect to have for a family reunion or group party.

3-Hole Bag and 3-Hole Washer Toss

I think the bag toss game would be great for kids of all ages.  Jager & Boston (my 3 year olds) would totally love this, but so their grandparents!  I see DIY version of this on pinterest, but this is bright and colorful, and for $35 you couldn’t make it for that, and get it right away!

Ladder ball

This is another game that is great for all ages and again easier just to buy than to DIY.  The goal is to throw the balls and get them to hang off the ladder rungs.  I like that it can be taken down and set up easily.  Another one that would work for a family reunion as well.

So, what else will keep my kids entertained this summer?  We are lucky to live in a lake community so I am planning on spending as many sunny days there as a family as I can.

What are your plans for the summer?  Do you schedule or loosely plan some activities?
