Are you ready to elevate your math-teaching game? We’ve got something super cool for you – FREE printable ten frame cards!  Get ready to add a dash of fun to help kids learn numbers with this fantastic resource.

What are Ten Frames?

Ten frames are a rectangular grid with two rows and five columns, making ten cells in total. Each cell can hold a dot, a counter, or a number to visually represent a number. A ten frame card is used in the classroom to help students see and recognize numbers up to ten. If you would like a free printable sheet of ten frame cards or some basic ten frame worksheets, keep reading to the end of the post!

How Do You Use Ten Frames?

These ten frame number cards help young children (I suggest for first graders) with learning basic math concepts like adding, subtracting and comparing numbers. There are a variety of ways for teachers to use them in the classroom. Young kids can compare two frames with different combinations of dots to determine which has more or less – what a great way to use this visual tool!

Little learners can add buttons, stickers, beans, mini erasers, or any variety of small craft supplies into each square frame box of the ten-frame cards to count out any math equation and get the right answer.

A fun way to use these ten frame printables is to make your own printable flashcards. There are various ways to make these 10 frame flash cards fun! Hide and seek, I-Spy, and more.

To reuse these ten frame templates print them onto cardstock and laminate them for the most durable classroom use.
