If you need a place to store or display beauty products or you just share a house with a teenager who needs their own space to get ready, why not try a separate makeup vanity? Here are some beautiful DIY makeup vanity ideas to get you started.

Whether you need more storage space in your bathroom or you want to create a stylish makeup vanity that fits in with your home decor, there are plenty of ways to do it on a tight budget.

Vintage Vanity Makeover

The Makeup Vanity Desk is Nostalgic

Growing up my cousins family had three girls who all shared a room with the cutest vintage vanity in it. These cousins were 3-7 years older than me which was huge at the time. They would all get ready for dates and events in their room, and I would hang out and ask them to do my hair.

There were many memories of having these cousins braid my hair, backcomb our bangs, or crimp our hair in the very best late 80s style. As a girl with no sisters I thought this room was HEAVEN. Even today when we get together we always reminisce on those fun times where I wanted to be a teenager just like them.

I guess I have always had nostalgic memories about a makeup vanity and am always saving ideas for them and I thought it was a perfect time to share them with you.

DIY Bathroom Vanity

While there are some great DIY bathroom vanity plans and great DIY bathroom vanity ideas this post will stick to the makeup vanities with a simple design that doesn’t need plumbing.

Give a traditional vanity a new look with a fresh coat of paint and some new hardware. A round mirror is a great option for an updated look.

Love the vanity but don’t want to DIY? Here is a great vanity you can buy.

If your home has a small bathroom, a shared bathroom, or just one person who owns a lot of makeup and needs more storage space why not try a DIY Makeup vanity table for a separate space in your home. A DIY vanity desk is perfect for a bedroom or bathroom but can also be placed in a small nook or a walk in closet.

Checkerboard and Daisies Vanity Makeover

How cute is this checkerboard painted pattern with the daisy handles? Danielle Consolo from Slo.Gathered.Home on instagram transformed an old furniture piece into a vanity with her daughter. I love a project that kids can get involved in and the style is so fun for a teen or tween bedroom.

We all love a good Ikea Hack and this one DIY vanity from Sugar and Cloth is not only simple it is stunning in its beauty as well. Anyone who wears glasses will relate to the sitting in the bathroom sink to get ready.
