We showed and sold last summer and my kids were 18 months and 4 1/2 at the time, and we have a black lab. Showings were so hard. Many occurred at meal times, bedtime or prime family time. I also had 2 showings that they gave us 20 minutes notice. We were allowed to refuse, but our realtor encouraged us to accept every one possible and just get it done. I vacuumed every single day, regardless of a showing was scheduled or not, because even with an hour notice, I still had to get the kids and dog packed up, make sure the counters were clear and toys picked up. I kept a bag of picnic supplies and snacks ready to go. Being out with a dog at meals meant restaurants were out of the question and we got tired of drive through really fast. We couldn’t shop either because you definitely can’t leave the dog in the car in June in NC. We spent many of our showings at playgrounds.
It was worth it though, we were under contract for above asking within a week.
