Any long time readers here at Brooklyn Berry Designs will know that I love to craft and do DIY projects.  I love it so much, I need it.  After the kids go to bed I like to Netflix and Craft.  The one tool that has made a huge impact on my projects is the Cricut Explore.  I always thought of the machine as a scrapbooking tool, but the types of projects people were creating with it surprised me.  While I could hand cut each material on its own, the Cricut takes the project to a professional level that I happily share with friends and family.  The more I use my machine, the more projects I think to use it for. So what exactly can this machine do? What can the Cricut Explore cut?Cricut Explore Materials

WHAT IS THE CRICUT MACHINE AND WHAT CAN IT DO?

What materials can the Cricut Explore cut?
Cricut Explore Materials

When I first got the Cricut Explore I put that little machine to the test.  I immediatley tried to cut leather and it went so smooth (see that project –  leather mary jane shoes).  I have tried paper, cardstock, iron-on vinyl, washi paper, craft foam (for flyfishing even), leather, poster board, and felt.

Did you know the Cricut can cut over 100 different materials? From wrapping paper to duct tape, and even a pop can, the machine can cut:

  • Cardstock & Paper
  • Vinyl
  • Iron On Vinyl
  • Glitter Iron On Vinyl
  • Craft Foam
  • Window Cling
  • Poster Board
  • Printable Vinyl
  • Printable sticker paper
  • Tattoo Paper
  • Washi Sheets
  • Vellum
  • Faux Leather
  • Adhesive Foil
  • Duct Tape
  • Freezer Paper
  • Aluminum Pop Can
  • Felt

Here are some of the projects I have made using various materials and the Cricut Explore:

Canada 150 water bottle  // Kids chef apron // Personalized Christmas Ornaments

Faux Leather earrings // Leather Mary Jane Booties // Kid Friendly Paper Ornaments

DIY Giant Clock // Marble Table Numbers // Custom Wedding Decor

Custom School Supplies // Spring Welcome Banner // Trendy T Shirts
